We believe that implicit in the mission of Jesus Christ is
And so, our mission includes the following components:
to train disciple-makers who make disciples through practical apprenticeship (2 Tim 2:2)
to train teams of disciple-makers who are able to plant multiplying churches
to train disciple-makers who, like a good missionary, are able to study, understand, and minister meaningfully in their local cultural context
The vision of the Luke 24 Training Center is
Values - the DNA of the Training
- 2 Timothy 3:10-11 - (ESV)
Luke 24 Training Center is intended to train men and women in biblical studies, theology, leadership, missionary work, church planting, character development, and servanthood.
-Someone who longs to grow as a Christ follower
-Someone who wants to be in an intentional discipleship relationship and gain practical insights for "passing it on"
-Someone who is disciplined, committed, and willing to stretch and invest in the lives of others
-Someone who seeks to be equipped for a purposeful life of servanthood
Year two's curriculum includes: how to be a responsible steward of God's provisions, how to plant churches, servant leadership, cross-cultural missions training, and establishing healthy rhythms of life.
Trainees will be provided with Intense Bible training through three-hour sessions, five days a week.
Each trainee is required to work a minimum of ten hours at a secular location in the area.
Each trainee is asked to enjoy and develop their personal hobbies each week, and engage with the community around them while doing so. We believe that God gives unique skills and interests to each person. If you enjoy soccer, join the community soccer league. If you enjoy board games, join the board game club to intentionally develop relationships with members of the community.
Each trainee has the opportunity to meet weekly one on one with a member of the Luke 24 leadership team. This is a chance to process life in truth through everyday opportunities.
Luke 24 Training Center will include weekly men's and women's small group times in which trainees will discuss the content that will be applied to one another’s lives.
The Luke 24 Training Center schedule allows space throughout each week for trainees to pursue other studies unrelated to the Luke 24 Training. For example, a trainee can work toward an online degree, or pursue other face-to-face options in the Dubuque area. Emmaus Bible College, our sister organization, offers fully accredited degrees, as well as a range of online courses. Visit www.Emmaus.edu/EDL
