Bible - Discipleship - Life

MISSION & VISION

Mission

The mission of the Luke 24 Training Center is to train and deploy disciple-makers who invest their lives in the mission of Jesus Christ.

We believe that implicit in the mission of Jesus Christ is

  • multiplication:that every believer has been commanded by Christ to make disciples that make disciples, and thereby advance the Gospel’s exponential impact
  • community:that discipleship is not merely imparting doctrine but rather sharing of truth in the context of relationships, and that maturation in Christ demands life in the context of a church, whether already existing or newly formed
  • a global perspective:that the Lord Jesus Christ intends to reach every nation, language group, and people group through believers who fulfill His mission

And so, our mission includes the following components:

to train disciple-makers who make disciples through practical apprenticeship (2 Tim 2:2)

to train teams of disciple-makers who are able to plant multiplying churches

to train disciple-makers who, like a good missionary, are able to study, understand, and minister meaningfully in their local cultural context

Vision

The vision of the Luke 24 Training Center is

  • to spark a movement of multiplying churches
  • to promote the value, the adoption, and the contextualized expression of New Testament church principles

Values - the DNA of the Training

  • Relational Discipleship—Discipleship is the transfer of biblical truth in the context of real life. We are committed to discipleship training that takes place in the context of authentic, meaningful relationships.
  • Intentional Multiplication—Christ calls us to a life of fruitfulness. We are committed to make disciples that make disciples and that plant churches that plant churches.
  • Teamwork and Unity—Christ calls us to emulate Him in the way we relate: collaborating with grace not legalism, humble service and not control, with fervent love and joy.
  • Prayer and the Holy Spirit—The mission belongs to Christ. We prioritize dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ and the leading and empowerment of the Holy Spirit to carry out His mission.
  • Visionary Leadership—Christ calls his disciples to lead. We value the ability to understand the times (1 Chr 12:32), serve others, cast vision, set goals, mobilize the body of Christ and overcome obstacles in order to fulfill the Great Commission.
  • Biblically Centered—Christ calls his disciples to obey the Scriptures. The Bible provides both the foundation and the goal of our mission, and the content of all we teach.
  • Missionary Zeal—Christ sends his disciples into the world as the Father sent Him (John 20:21).We passionately desire to see all people of all cultures embrace the Gospel. We are committed to ministry that engages its cultural context meaningfully and optimistically.
