INTRODUCTION-
VISION & GOALS

LIT Training Center desires to see hearts and lives transformed! People walking in life in truth by living out the Bible and the heart of God in reaching the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ by making disciples.

This goal is accomplished by intense classroom training sessions combined with everyday real-life in the community and in the church.Each student will be required to re-teach what they are learning with the community around them.

LIT Training Center is intended to develop young men and women in the areas of Biblical studies, theology, leadership, church leadership, missionary training, church planting, character development and servanthood.

This program requires discipline, commitment, and a willingness to stretch and invest into the lives of others. It is designed to better equip you for an intentional life of discipleship, ministry and glory for our Lord Jesus Christ.

LIT TRAINING CENTER IS DESIGNED AS A TWO YEAR JOURNEY

LIFE IN TRUTH

YEAR 1

A focus on seeing the storyline of the Bible while learning principles of bible study while diving into systematic theology that applies to gospel center spiritual growth and transformation while understanding Biblical manhood and womanhood.

YEAR 2

Continuing to specific fields of study that prepare students of church planting North American and missionary training with cross cultural principles. Covering ministry realties and the rhythms of life all experience practical real world applications.

MINISTRY 101
In this class, student will receive
equipping in areas
of normal ministry and
family life. Topics will include
work/family boundaries, productivity,
basic counseling skills, budgeting,
resolutions etc...
CHURCH PLANTING
Training and inspirations on
how to develop healthy
replicating churches in
the North American context.
CHURCH LEADERSHIP
How to follow theexamples
of church leadership principles
and structures seen in the
Bible. Practical tools
and applications on how
to lead as a servant leader
and replicate future
leaders around you.
MISSIONARY TRAINING
Cross cultural training and
practical lessons on how
to share the gospel and
live in an overseas context.
To have the tools and be
prepared to live and work
in a cross cultural
environment.
RYTHMS OF LIFE
How do you minister out
of an overflow of your
personal relationship with
Jesus? How do yo avoid
ministry burnout? Helping
students establish
keystone spiritual habits in
their lives that feed their
passion for God.

COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT / VOLUNTEER

Each student is required to work/volunteer a minimum of ten hours at a secular location.

PERSONAL HOBBIES, ENGAGING THE WORLD

Each student is asked to enjoy and develop their personal hobbies each week, and engage with the community around them while doing so. We believe that God gives unique skills and interests to each person. If you enjoy soccer, join the community soccer league. If you enjoy board games, join the board game club to intentionally develop real relationships with those you interact with.

PERSONALLY WALK IN DISCIPLESHIP

Each student has the opportunity to meet weekly one on one with a member of the LIT leadership team for a coffee or a meal to process life in truth.

ASSIGNMENTS & PROJECTS

Each subject will require its own expectation
of homework assignments and projects,
including but not limited to pre-class reading, written
assignments, teaching assignments,
Scripture memorization, book charts and journaling.

Each student will be asked to complete the 24 course Emmaus Road curriculum throughout their time at the training center.

There will also be various service projects and opportunities
we will ask/encourage you to participate in throughout the year,
including but not limited to study trips and school mentoring.
Wednesdays will also include weekly men and women small group times,
in which students will process the specific content as applied to
one another’s lives.

PARTNER WITH ONLINE
ACADEMIC EDUCATION

Each student of LIT will be given time space throughout each week to be enrolled in an online academic studies program if they desire. For example a student of LIT Training Center can also be completing an online degree in Communications while living and studying in the community of LIT Training Center.

ATTENDANCE

LIT Training Center students must attend classes and/or events regularly and faithfully. We understand life happens- sickness, family needs, mission trips, etc... We certainly want to extend much grace in those areas.

RETEACH

LIT Training Center students must be willing to study, apply and reteach what they receive during this year.

CHURCH COMMUNITY

LIT Training Center students must be committed and active in a local church.

HOUSING & FOOD

While not directly provided by the LIT Training Center program, the LIT team will help students get settled in Dubuque, IA. A process of helping students find affordable housing options, jobs, and food suggestions will be provided

COSTS

Lord willing the goal is to have full-time students receive a tuition-paid education, enabling them to completethe program and begin ministry quickly without the burden of loans.
